Hard hat stickers should be made of vinyl aka pvc and should be water resistant, fade resistant etc because as you know we wear them outside. That being said whether you are decorating a new hard hat or sprucing up an old one there are a few tips that can help you make sure they look good and last a long time!

It doesn’t matter if you apply them to a plastic or metal hard hat, the hard hat stickers should stick to any surface. They should also not tear even if you pull them off and adjust them slightly when applying. These steps will help you apply them to stay stuck.

  1. Clean and smooth the area thoroughly. Use something like rubbing alcohol and scrub the area so it will be clean and dry with no residue.
  2. Line up your sticker the way you want it before you apply. You can cut them out with the backs still on if you want to see what they will look like before you apply them. Hard hats have different bends and contours so make they will fit where you want them without too much bending. Like a puzzle you can figure out where they will all go before you apply them.
  3. Peel the back off carefully, try not to touch the adhesive or let the sticker fold over on itself. Set the sticker in place lightly and then start smoothing it from the very center and in a circular motion from the center out. You might have to massage the edges to keep them smooth on a contour.
  4. If the edges crease a little you can either smooth it out or pull the edge off a little and re-smooth.
  5. Once they are flat and all applied, post a selfie on our Facebook or Instagram!
